Bryon Baltimore begins his first full season this year with the Stingers. He
came to the team last year with Hugh Harris from Indianapolis in exchange for Blaine
Stoughton and Gilles Marotte. The 6'/2", 200 pound defenseman scored 11 points in 28
games with the Stingers and 8 with the Racers. He was hampered part of the season last
year with a hip pointer but is expected to be in top shape this year.iT and Bradford

Richard (Rick) Dudley enters his fourth year with the Stingers, reunited with
the man who was his coach with the Cincinnati Swords, Floyd Smith. Dudley, one of the most
popular players on the team, was second in team scoring with 72 points last year. A
talented musician who has recorded several songs, Dudley was an outstanding professional
Lacrosse player with the Rochester Griffins of the National Lacrosse League and Bradford
Warriors of the Canadian Professional Lacrosse League. |

Charles (Chuck) Luksa is a bruising defenseman known for his checking, and he
is also an All-Star, having been named an American Hockey League All-Star last year. He is
also no stranger to championship play. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Voyageurs Calder
Cup winning team of 1974-75 and 1975-76. He is rated a solid defenseman.i The Most Valuable

Robert (Robbie) Ftorek enters the 1978-79 season with the current longest
consecutive game streak in the World Hockey Association, 276. In his first year with the
Stingers in 1977-78, he had 59 goals and 50 assists for 109 points, seventh best in the
league. It also marked the third straight year he had scored over 100 points. The Most
Valuable Player in the WHA in 1976-77, Ftorek was an outstanding athlete in high school
(Needham, Mass.) being named All-State in soccer in his junior year.. |

Twenty-year old Kelly Davis is an outstanding example of Junior Hockey
players turned out in Canada. He scored 22 goals and added 61 assists for 83 points this
past year with the Flin Flon Bombers of the Western Canadian Hockey League. He also picked
up 210 penalty minutes. He was orginally drafted by the New York Islanders of the National
Hockey League. |

Eightteen-year-old Mike Gartner was rated one of the top junior players in
Canada and considered by many as the number one junior hockey player for next year's
hockey draft. He scored 41 goals and added 49 assists for 90 points this past year with
the Niagra Falls Flyers of the Ontario Hockey Association. Stingers' Coach Floyd Smith
described Gartner as a great skater who was strong in the corners.. |

Dave Debol came to the Stingers late in the 1977-78 season after an
outstanding career at the University of Michigan. He was an All-American with the
Wolverines duringthe 1976-77 season, when he scored 99 points in only 45 games. The
Stingers purchased his rights from the Edmonton Oilers in the trade that sent Dennis
Sobchuk to the Oilers. Debol was also the Most Valuable Player on the Wolverines in
1976-77. |

Paul Stewart quickly established himself as a favorite of Stingers dans last
year with his rugged, aggressive play on the ice. He joined the Cincinnati Stingers
mid-way through the 1977-78 season and scored six points in 40 games while racking up 241
penalty minutes, the third time in his career he had accumualted 230 or more penalty
minutes in a season. A native of Boston, Mass. Stewart is a graduate of the University of
Pennsylvania. |
