-"I have rooted for the

Cincinnati has. I feel that the Stingers deserve Cincinnati's support and that the fans
should be behind the team". On top of her duties as a stickgirl she was awarded two

The Stingers and Whalers
were neck and neck in the WHA East Division and Cincinnati needed to win. Not forgetting
the 8-3 whipping they took from the Whalers in Hartford a few days prior, Cincinnati
jumped out in a hard-skating first period and nabbed two goals. Ron Plumb scored the first
at 6:29, while Rick Dudley followed at 9:43. The second period saw far less action with
New England's left winger Ron Climie putting one in the net at 18:45.
In the third period the Stingers Jaques
Locas scored a goal at 11:01 with help from Ron Plumb. But the Whalers refused to go away.
Making few mistakes and matching the Stingers with shots on goals. The Whalers left winger
Don Blackburn scored the second New England goal at 13:06 to put them within one goal. But
Stingers Pierre Guites blasted one past Whalers goal tender Christer Abrahamsson at 18:01
to ice the Stingers victory.
