Cincinnati Stingers, attempting to strengthen their defense, picked up free-agent goal
tender Paul Hoganson Monday. Hoganson, a seven year pro hockey veteran played in four
games with New England this season with a won-lost record of 1-2-1. He allowed 16 goals
for a goals against average of 4.29. Hoganson played last year with the Baltimore
Clippers, appearing in 32 games and giving up 122 goals for a 4.12 goals against average.
The 6 foot, 180 pound Toronto native is no stranger to Stingers coach Terry Slater. He
played in 26 games for Slater's Los Angeles Sharks team during the 1973-74 season. In other moves Monday, the Stingers released right wing Steve Andrascik and
defeseman Dick Spannbauer and brought up goal tender John Kiely and right wing Murray
Myers from the Hampton farm team. The Stingers announced that Saturday night's game at
Riverfront Coliseum against Denver will be "guaranteed to win" night. If the
Stingers currently on an eight-game losing streak, fail to win Saturday night, every fan
in attendance will receive a free pass to Sunday night's contest with Cleveland. |
